Prototypical Design/Build/Tests
As our industry heads into the next generation of nuclear with advanced and small reactors the need for our nuclear grade design/build/validation services is in high demand. The concept designs that support the business models and regulatory framework of the new reactor designs need to be prototyped, proven, and optimized for efficiency and reliability.
JFT is supporting this space by developing first-of-a-kind (FOAK) Fuel Fabrication Equipment, Specialty Filtration Skids, and neutron monitoring system equipment for the new generation of small modular reactors, molten salt, and traveling wave reactors.
Safety Significant Design
JFT’s quality program provides the framework and basis to support safety significant design activities for both the new advanced and small modular reactor industry as well as the maintenance of existing NPPs. JFT’s quality program has been audited by many reactor OEMs and DOE prime contractors and has been found to be compliant to both NQA-1 and 10CFR50 App B. This includes all 18-point criteria, including design.
Reverse Engineering
JFT’s NPP Reactor component solutions are realized within our manufacturing shop turning ideas into metal (or plastic) using our disciplined work control processes and fabrication know-how. Our precision machine shop, broad welding capabilities, and plate processing / forming capabilities provide a full suite of capabilities that can be deployed to build any component within an NPP.
Component Qualification
JFT’s pragmatic solutions to component qualification are focused on alleviating customer pain points by finding the safest, quickest-to-market solution for NPP obsolesce challenges to ensure their plants continue to run and provide clean energy for the grid. This is enabled by JFT’s Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD), Environmental Qualification (EQ), material identification, and testing capabilities.
